Kornhaus, Rorschach

The Grain House in Rorschach is a listed building of cultural, historical and aesthetic significance.  Hailing from the Baroque era, the structure is located on the shores of Lake Constance. After serving a number of different purposes and undergoing comprehensive modernisation, the original granary building from 1749 now houses an interactive museum for visitors of all ages.
Thanks to its prominent location by the harbour, the Gain House has become a Rorschach landmark. Every evening, a bold statement is made – dignified in its presence, precise in the interplay between light and architecture. In keeping with its historical and architectural significance, the striking landmark is brought to life by a subtly coordinated lighting design: The façade gains texture, cornices and window arches are given definition, and the roof ledges and superstructures become more prominent.
